Arrival

Day 1

Arrival in Nairobi

Private airport transfer

You’ll be met at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by our driver and transferred to Karen, a leafy and safe suburb outside the city. Your boutique accommodation, sits in peaceful gardens where children can stretch after the long flight. Families love the quiet space, warm welcome, and proximity to the Karen Blixen Museum, which you can visit if time allows.

This first night is designed to help everyone relax and recover from travel before the adventure begins

Day 2–4

Safari Adventures in the Masai Mara

  • Flight to the Masai Mara
  • Daily game drives with professional guides
  • Overnight at Luxury Camp

Wake up to your first African sunrise, then fly into the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most famous reserve. Upon arrival, your guide will greet you and drive you to Luxury Camp, set right on the Talek River. The river attracts a constant stream of wildlife, and during migration season, wildebeest herds may cross right in front of camp.

Over three days, you’ll enjoy morning and afternoon game drives across the plains. Expect to see lion prides, cheetah families, elephants, giraffes, and hippos. Children will love the picnic breakfasts in the bush, where fresh juice, coffee, and pastries are served under an acacia tree with giraffes in view.

Evenings are magical. Enjoy tea and homemade cakes before your afternoon drive, sip sundowners as the sky turns gold, and return to camp for dinner around the fire. For parents, it’s a chance to relax with a glass of wine. For children, it’s a chance to fall asleep to the sounds of Africa—lions calling, hyenas laughing, and crickets singing.

Day 5–7

The Serengeti: Wildlife on a Grand Scale

  • Flight into Serengeti National Park
  • Twice-daily game drives
  • Overnight at Luxury Camp

Today you cross into Tanzania and land in the legendary Serengeti, where vast plains stretch as far as the eye can see. Your home is a luxury tented camp that moves seasonally to follow the Great Migration. Tents are spacious and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, hot showers, and the option of sleeping under the stars on a roll-out bed deck.

Each day brings something new: wildebeest and zebra crossing rivers, predators waiting nearby, elephants bathing in muddy pools, or hippos wallowing in the rivers. Morning drives often include picnic breakfasts, while afternoon drives end with sundowners overlooking the savannah.

Families will enjoy the slower pace between safaris: board games in the lounge tent, storytelling by the fire, or stargazing in the clear African sky.

Day 8–10

Unique Hospitality by Women in the Vast Wilderness

  • Flight to Seronera Airstrip
  • Overnight at Luxury Bush Camp

From central Serengeti, travel to a small, intimate camp run entirely by women—the first of its kind in Africa. Families often find this camp especially warm and welcoming.

Your tented suite offers sweeping views and plenty of space for parents and children to rest between game drives. Each morning, head out for a sunrise safari with a packed breakfast, maximizing your chances of spotting predators while they’re still active. Later, relax with a hot shower, lounge time, or a family-style lunch under shady trees.

In the afternoons, enjoy shorter game drives with sundowners before returning to camp for dinner. For those seeking something special, hot-air balloon safaris are available at extra cost—a breathtaking way to see the Serengeti from above.

Day 11–12

Ngorongoro Crater: A Natural Wonder

  • Flight to Lake Manyara Airstrip
  • Scenic drive to Ngorongoro highlands
  • Overnight at Luxury Lodge

Travel by air and road to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The drive is an adventure itself: markets, forests, farmland, and Maasai villages dot the route.

Stay at luxury safari lodge, where futuristic glass-domed suites look out over volcanic landscapes. Inside, you’ll find wood-burning stoves, warm blankets, and cozy spaces—perfect for families at this higher altitude.

The highlight is your full-day descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most spectacular natural wildlife areas. Lions patrol the grasslands, elephants graze near the forests, and hippos wallow in lakes. Families often find the crater particularly exciting because you can see so many species in a relatively small area—making it easier for children to spot the Big Five.

Back at camp, enjoy a hearty dinner by the fire. You may also choose to visit a local Maasai community or take a gentle hike to nearby volcanic craters.

Day 13–15

Zanzibar Beach Escape

  • Flight from Ngorongoro to Zanzibar
  • Overnight at a luxury Beachfront Club & Spa

Head to Zanzibar for three nights of sun, sand, and relaxation. Families can spend the day swimming in the turquoise ocean, exploring coral reefs while snorkeling, or simply playing on the white sand beach.

The beachfront lodge offers family-friendly villas and plenty of activities. Parents may enjoy the spa or a romantic dinner on the beach, while children can try cooking classes, palm weaving, or safe water sports.

This extension provides the perfect way to unwind after days of exciting safari drives.

Day 16

Departure

  • Transfer to Zanzibar Airport

Enjoy one last beachfront breakfast before transferring to the airport. Your East African family adventure ends here, but the memories will travel with you long after you’ve returned home.
